Raipur: Security personnel at the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur apprehended a man for attempting to board a flight using a forged Aadhaar card on March 12. The accused, identified as Kuldeep Singhal, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was trying to travel to Indore on a ticket issued in the name of Snehal Rajubhai Patel.
The incident occurred during a routine security check. Officials grew suspicious of the authenticity of the Aadhaar card presented by the passenger. Upon closer inspection, authorities discovered that the document was counterfeit.
Investigations revealed that Singhal replaced the original photograph on Snehal Rajubhai Patel's Aadhaar card with his own. He then used this fabricated document to pose as Patel and attempt the journey from Raipur to Indore.
When asked about the motive, Mana police said that it was not ascertained so far, and prima facie it appeared that the accused wanted to save money by travelling on another person's ticket.
