Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the creation of five new Cultural and Development Boards for the Munda, Kora, Dom, Kumbhakar, and Sadgope communities. The move aims to preserve languages, cultural traditions, and socio-economic development, while also serving as a political strategy to consolidate support in the western districts of the state. With electoral competition between the Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party intensifying, these communities form key voting blocs, making this announcement a significant pre-election development.
