Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) declared the results for its high school (Class 10) and higher secondary (Class 12) examinations on Wednesday, showcasing substantial milestones as girl students consistently outperformed their male counterparts across both academic levels. While the pass percentage for girls in Class 10 results was 81%, it stood at 86% for Class 12.
CGBSE secretary Pushpa Sahu confirmed the successful completion of the 2026 examinations and the timely declaration of results. The data reveals that girls have set a higher benchmark in pass percentages, underscoring a positive trend in academic achievement for girl students in the state.
The high school examinations saw a total pass percentage of 77.15%. Reflecting the broader trend, girl students recorded a pass percentage of 81.03%, significantly outpacing the 72.27% pass rate achieved by boys. Out of 314,953 students who appeared for the exam, 243,016 successfully passed.
The higher secondary examinations demonstrated a similarly impressive performance, with an overall pass rate of 83.04%. Once again, girl students led the results with a pass percentage of 86.04%, compared to 78.86% for boys.
A total of 202,549 students passed out of the 243,898 who appeared for the examinations.
Candidates from remote and forested regions also achieved merit list placements. The success of these students serves as a testament to their discipline and continuous efforts. The academic achievements of those from remote areas prove that talent can thrive even with a dearth of resources and should be supported more.
Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that girls secured the top positions, reflecting academic excellence and determination. "Heartiest congratulations to all the meritorious students who succeeded in these examinations. You are the pride of your families and the backbone of a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India. Your dedication paves the way for a bright future," Sai said.
