PUNE : Bridgestone India Private Limited, a tyre and rubber company, has joined hands with the Pune police to promote road safety awareness in Pune.
As part of this initiative, the company presented traffic safety (crash) bar-ricades, reflective jackets and traffic light batons to Pune city police last week.
The traffic safety gears were presented to Manoj Patil, deputy commis-sioner of police (Zone IV).

The event was graced by Swapana Gore, assis-tant commissioner of police (Khadki division), Suresh Kumar Vajpayee, CISF, George Varghese, chief security officer of Pune Airport; Sanjay Ku-rundkar, senior police inspector and Vittal Darekar, police inspector (crime) of the Airport police station.
DCP Patil said that road safety is of paramount importance and it is neces-sary to take adequate measures to raise its awareness. “We are pleased to have the company supporting us in promoting safer driving for the people in Pune,” he added.
Ajay Sevekari, Director (HR and Administration, Purchase, Logistics and IT) of the company said, “Bridgestone has always considered people as the most valuable resource and safeguarding their health and safety is of the utmost importance. Through this activity, the company would like to promote the importance of safe driving. Through such initiatives, the company aims to help police increase awareness about road safety and re-duce the number of road accidents.”
