Three suffocates to death in Gaya village
Gaya: An elderly woman, her maternal grandson and granddaughter suffocated to death at Ekta village under Wazirganj police station area in Gaya district late on Tuesday night.The three were sleeping inside a room of the house, where a ‘borsi’ (fire pot) was lit to get relief from the cold. As the door and window of the room were shut, the room was filled with smoke emitting from the fire pot. This suffocated Meena Devi (60), Anshu Kumari (5) and Sujeet Kumar (3) to death.When the mother of the children, Kajal Devi, opened the door on Wednesday morning, the children and the woman were found in an unconscious state. The three were admitted to a govt hospital, where the doctor declared them dead.This is the second such incident in Wazirganj since Dec 21.Wazirganj SHO Neeraj Kumar said, “Police sent the bodies to the ANMMCH for postmortem. The district administration provided Rs20,000 to the kin of the deceased under family welfare scheme.”
