Three die in road accident

BIHARSHARIF: At least three persons, including a woman, were run over by a truck near Faridpur village under Barbigha police station area in Sheikhpura district on Monday.
The truck overturned but the driver fled. The deceased were identified as Seema Devi, Vikki Kumar and Braj Bihari of Chitoda.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased were coming from Barbigha side when their bike collided with the truck coming from the opposite side.While two persons on the motorcycle were crushed to death, the third succumbed to injuries before being taken to the hospital.
Angry residents blocked Barbigha-Sheikhpura Road for over an hour. They also demanded compensation to the next of kin of the deceased.
Denying charges of reaching late at the accident site, a police officer from Barbigha police station said the deceased were on way home after attending a wedding in Biharsharif. “An FIR against the unidentified truck driver has been registered,” said the police officer.
