State ties up with training board for AEDP

Patna: The Bihar State Higher Education Council and the Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday to implement the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Program (AEDP). The ceremony occurred at the Council Auditorium, where officials exchanged documents between the board, state universities and affiliated colleges.

This programme integrates industrial training into academic curricula to provide students with experience during their degree studies. Attendees included education secretary Rajiv Roshan, higher education director NK Agrawal and board director SM Ejaz Ahmed. Representatives from Patliputra University, Patna University, Magadh University, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University and Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University participated alongside officials from 11 colleges.

Agrawal said, "Through AEDP, the gap between education and industry will be bridged. Students will acquire practical skills alongside their studies, significantly enhancing their employability." Roshan said the initiative combines classroom learning with on-the-job training to create a workforce for the state. Ahmed said the model allows students to learn in industrial environments. Deputy secretary Ram Sagar Singh concluded the event by thanking the participating institutions. The initiative seeks to align academic knowledge with industry requirements through skill development.
