Madhubani: Marking National Girl Child Day with a strong call for social reform, personnel of the 48th Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), joined local communities in Jaynagar in Madhubani on Thursday to rally against child marriage.
The battalion campus buzzed with energy as Commandant Govind Singh Bhandari flagged off a “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat” (Child Marriage-Free India) rath yatra under the ongoing 100-day campaign.

Organised jointly by Gram Vikas Yuva Trust, women and child development department (Madhubani), and the SSB, the rally moved through key routes along border areas, spreading awareness through slogans, banners and community engagement.
Addressing officers, jawans and participants, Commandant Bhandari said ending child marriage required collective action. “This is not the responsibility of one person or one organisation. Every member of society must participate. Campaigns like this spark awareness and drive long-term change,” he said.
