Patna/Buxar: Panic gripped civil courts in Purnia and Buxar on Friday after bomb threats were received through email, prompting immediate evacuation of the premises, suspension of judicial proceedings, and deployment of security force.Purnia sadar SDPO-I, Jyoti Shankar, said they received information about the bomb threat. “Initial searches did not yield any suspicious items or explosives. However, security measures have been tightened on the court premises and those entering or leaving the campus are being thoroughly checked,” he said, adding that verification of identity cards has been enforced.

The SDPO added that the cybercell has taken up an investigation to trace the origin the email. Police said strict legal action will be initiated against the perpetrators once they are identified.In Buxar civil court, after the bomb threat, judicial proceedings were temporarily suspended, and everyone was asked to leave the campus.Buxar SDPO Gaurav Kumar Pandey along with the police force reached the court premises and began a thorough search. Later, SP Shubham Arya also arrived thereto review the situation.
The SDPO said the threat was received via email. “As a precautionary step, the court premise has been evacuated. Search operation is being conducted with the help of the dog squad and technical teams. So far, no suspicious object has been found,” he said.District Bar Association general secretary Bindeshwari Prasad Pandey said the association cooperated with security agencies. He underlined the need for further strengthening of security arrangements at the civil court.Advocate Sarfaraz Saifi also urged the administration to implement strict security measures to ensure the safety of advocates, staff and litigants.
