Addressing the gathering, Paras said the move reflected the party’s effort to give greater responsibility to young leaders.
“Today’s politics has entered a new phase. The time has come to hand over the party’s command to youths. In line with this, the responsibility has been given to Prince Raj,” he said.
Paras added that another meeting of party functionaries would be held after two months to formally appoint Raj as the national president, after which his decisions would be binding on all party members.
Speaking on the occasion, Raj said the RLJP would contest seats in the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, irrespective of the electoral outcome for the party.
