PM Modi West Bengal Visit Live: PM targets Pakistan over terror links, recalls 1971 war
While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not spell out the details of the three instances, his remarks are being widely interpreted as references to the 2016 surgical strikes following the Uri terror attack, the 2019 Balakot air strikes after the Pulwama bombing, and the recent cross-border strikes under 'Operation Sindoor'.

"We destroyed cross-border terror infrastructure, which Pakistan had never thought of. We have hit Pakistan thrice inside their homes," he said.

In a pointed rebuke of Islamabad's military leadership, the Prime Minister alleged that Pakistan has made terrorism part of its institutional framework.

"Terrorism and mass murder are the biggest expertise of the Pakistani army, because whenever there is an open war, they face defeat," he added.

He further connected Pakistan’s long history of supporting terrorism to the events of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.

"Ever since it came into existence, Pakistan has only nurtured terror. It has carried out terrorist attacks on India ever since Partition in 1947. After a few years, the terror it spread in our neighbourhood — present-day Bangladesh (then East Pakistan) — is also unforgettable," Modi said.

PM Modi West Bengal Visit Live: PM criticizes TMC for skipping NITI Aayog meeting, accuses party of ignoring development
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the absence of the West Bengal government from a key NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting where chief ministers discuss development, accusing the TMC of focusing solely on politics instead of governance.

"A few days ago, an important meeting of the NITI Aayog’s Governing Council was held in Delhi. This is a crucial platform where Chief Ministers from across the country come together to discuss development issues. Unfortunately, the Bengal government chose not to attend this time. Leaders from other non-BJP ruled states participated, leaders from all parties came and engaged in discussions. But the TMC is only interested in doing 24/7 politics, they have no intention of actually working," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

PM Modi West Bengal Visit Live: PM accuses TMC of blocking central welfare schemes, denying benefits to poor and senior citizens
Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the TMC government for deliberately blocking central welfare programs like Ayushman Bharat and housing schemes, denying essential benefits to marginalized communities, senior citizens, and poor families in West Bengal. He highlighted how these failures have left people deprived of free treatment and permanent housing support.

"Politics has its place, but why is the TMC targeting the poor, Dalits, backward classes, tribals and women? Many central welfare schemes meant for the poor, SC, ST and OBC communities are not being implemented in West Bengal. Across the country, crores have benefitted from free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, but sadly, people of West Bengal are deprived of it. If someone from Bengal goes to Delhi, Bengaluru or Chennai, they can't avail free treatment there, because the ruthless state government never allowed Ayushman cards to be issued to its own people," says Prime Minister Narendra Modi

"Today, across the country, senior citizens above 70 years of age are getting free treatment benefits up to Rs 5 lakh. I want the same facility to be available to all seniors in West Bengal too. But the TMC government is not allowing it. The BJP-led central government is providing permanent housing to poor families across India. However, in West Bengal, lakhs of families are unable to get their homes built because TMC members are demanding cuts and commissions even from the poor" Prime Minister stated.

PM Modi West Bengal Visit Live: PM highlights corruption crisis in West Bengal, calls out teacher recruitment scam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the widespread corruption in West Bengal, emphasizing how it severely affects youth and middle-class families. He condemned the TMC government for ruining the futures of thousands of teachers through a major recruitment scam, calling it a systematic attack on the state’s education system.

"The people of Bengal now have only the courts to rely on. That is why the entire Bengal is saying: 'Bengal mein machi cheekh pukaar, nahi chahiye nirmam sarkar...'. Corruption impacts the youth the most. It affects poor and middle-class families severely. We’ve seen how corruption brings devastation from all sides, as witnessed in the teacher recruitment scam," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

"During its rule, the TMC government has ruined the future of thousands of teachers, devastated their families and left their children helpless. The scamsters of TMC have pushed hundreds of sons and daughters from poor families into darkness. This is not just a betrayal of a few thousand teachers’ futures, it is the systematic destruction of the entire education system of West Bengal," he further added.

Modi West Bengal Visit Live: Condemns Murshidabad riots, highlights violence, unemployment, corruption, and lawlessness in state
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the recent violence in Murshidabad and Malda, attributing it to the current state government’s failure and appeasement politics. He outlined the deep challenges facing West Bengal today, including rising violence, insecurity of women, youth unemployment, corruption, and the erosion of public trust.

"What happened in Murshidabad and Malda is a stark example of the cruelty of the current state government. During the riots, poor mothers and sisters lost their life savings overnight. In the name of appeasement, hooliganism was given a free hand," says Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Today, West Bengal is facing multiple crises simultaneously. The first is the crisis of violence and lawlessness spreading in society. The second is the insecurity faced by mothers and sisters, and the heinous crimes being committed against them. The third is the deepening despair among the youth and rampant unemployment. The fourth crisis is of grave corruption and the declining public trust in the system. The fifth is the selfish politics of the ruling party, which is snatching away the rights of the poor" he further added.
