Nitish launches Rs1,058 crore projects in Buxar and Ara
Buxar/Ara: CM Nitish Kumar, during his Samriddhi Yatra on Wednesday, launched and inaugurated development projects worth around Rs1,058 crore across Buxar and Bhojpur districts, including schemes worth Rs592 crore in Buxar and Rs466 crore in Ara, while highlighting the state govt’s focus on infrastructure, welfare and employment generation.
In Buxar, the CM addressed a ‘Jan Samvad’ programme at Qila Maidan during his Samriddhi Yatra, highlighting improvements in law and order, infrastructure, education, healthcare and employment in Bihar since 2005. He said the state has moved from an era of fear and poor governance before 2005 to one of peace, development and communal harmony.
The CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 64 development schemes in Buxar district worth Rs592 crore. This includes 41 completed projects worth Rs106 crore and 23 new schemes worth Rs 486 crore.
The CM also reviewed ongoing development works and directed officials to ensure their timely completion, stressing that these projects are crucial for the district’s growth and public welfare. The CM also distributed symbolic cheques and benefits to various groups, including: Rs33.17 crore to 7,441 groups under the Community Investment Fund, Rs100 crore loan support to 7,859 Jeevika self-help groups, benefits under the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, subsidies under animal resource schemes and Ayushman cards, Bihar Student Credit Cards and skill certificates.
Interacting with Jeevika members, he praised their contribution to Bihar’s development and assured continued govt support for women-led self-help groups. The CM reviewed progress of several major projects, including Malai Barrage and lift irrigations scheme, strengthening of Buxar-Koilwar Ganga embankment, road widening and connectivity projects across the district.
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary also addressed the gathering. Earlier, Buxar DM Sahila welcomed the CM. Several public representatives, including minister Md Zama Khan, JD(U) MLA from Rajpur Santosh Kumar Nirala, Buxar BJP MLA Anand Mishra and JD(U) MLA from Dumraon Rahul Kumar Singh, and senior officials were present on the occasion.
In Ara, the CM launched 721 projects worth Rs 466 crore. “The CM inaugurated 494 projects worth Rs197 crore and also laid foundation for 227 projects worth Rs269 crore,” said Bhojpur DM Tanai Sultania. The CM also held a review meeting, taking stock of the progress being made in the execution of various schemes announced during his Pragati Yatra for the Bhojpur district and asked the officials to expedite the completion of all the projects.
At the Government Medical College and Hospital under construction, the CM laid foundation stone for the 100-bed Critical Care Block being constructed at the cost of Rs4,450 lakh on the campus.
Presenting a symbolic cheque of Rs236 crore to 29,112 Jeevika Didis, the CM also inspected the Jeevika Mart at the Bazar Samiti Ara. Later the CM also gave a symbolic cheque of about Rs3 crore to 78 beneficiaries of the “Chief minister Udyami Yojana”.
He reviewed various ongoing projects for the Bhojpur district and inquired about the development of road projects.
Announcing to make the Ara Sadar hospital as a super speciality hospital, the CM said all the 14 blocks of the Bhojpur district will witness the transformation of its CHCs into advanced specialised hospitals.
