New cells at collectorate to enhance efficiency: DM
Patna: District magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan S M has established eight dedicated cells at the collectorate to enhance development and public service delivery, aiming to provide state-of-the-art facilities in the New Year.These cells are horticulture and beautification, library development, art and culture, LED display, e-office development, Jeevika souvenir sentre, creativity development, and best employee selection.

Senior nodal and nodal officers have been appointed for each unit, with the deputy development commissioner (DDC) overseeing all cells for coordinated execution.During a review meeting with department heads, the DM highlighted that the Patna collectorate, recently praised by national and international delegates during the Bihar assembly election, functions as a one-stop solution, housing around 39 departments.Offices are being transitioned to an e-office system in phases under a specialised cell to boost transparency and efficiency.The horticulture and beautification cell will implement infrastructure upgrades, while the art and culture cell will incorporate historical elements to reflect Patna’s heritage. The Jeevika souvenir centre will showcase products by self-help groups, and the creativity development cell will invite suggestions from citizens for district development projects.
To encourage staff performance, a monthly award system has been introduced for best-performing employees.The upgraded Collectorate is designed to project the image of a modern, developed Bihar while ensuring seamless public service delivery and encouring citizen engagement, he said.
