Nawada JD(U) MLA Vibha Devi’s son died in road accident
Patna: Akhilesh Yadav (45), son of Nawada JD(U) MLA Vibha Devi and former minister Raj Ballabh Yadav, died in a road accident on Thursday night.
The accident took place late Thursday evening when Akhilesh, a fuel station owner in Nawada, lost control of his SUV, which then crashed into a tree near his residence. He was rushed to a prominent private hospital in Patna, where he succumbed to his injuries. On seeing his son’s body, his mother, Vibha Devi, who earlier was with RJD, fainted.
The last rites of Akhilesh were performed on Friday at his ancestral village, Pathra English, in the presence of thousands of villagers. The funeral took place in front of his grandfather’s statue. His eldest son, 14-year-old Rachit, lit the funeral pyre.
Akhilesh’s father, Raj Ballabh Yadav, who was in RJD, had been accused in a 2016 minor rape case but was acquitted by the Patna high court last year.
Akhilesh, one of the two sons of Raj Ballabh Yadav, is survived by his three sons and his brother.
Akhilesh stayed away from politics and his behaviour with all family members and common people was very good, said villagers. He used to participate in political programmes as well and was connected to grassroots.
