Gaya: Magadh University (MU), Bodh Gaya, has operationalised 17 of the 40 modules of the Samarth portal, a digital platform aimed at streamlining academic, administrative and financial functions and promoting paperless governance.MU registrar Binod Kumar Mangalam said Samarth was among the university’s top priorities and that several key modules related to admissions, examinations, degree issuance, personnel management, manpower utilisation and leave administration have already become functional.Admitting there were initial challenges, Mangalam said, “A dedicated team is working hard to improvise the functional aspects of Samarth and make it function in a smooth fashion.” He added that the remaining 23 modules would also be made operational in a time-bound manner. On admissions, Mangalam said a private agency hired earlier for admission management would continue to conduct this year’s undergraduate admission process as all applicant data remains with the agency. Once admissions are completed, the data will be transferred to the Samarth portal for post-admission activities, including admit card generation and publication of results.“The PG admission process will be conducted on the Samarth module,” he said.Mangalam said the university is also committed to implementing the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR), which provides students with a lifelong digital academic identity. He further claimed that 4.5 lakh degrees and certificates of MU students have already been uploaded to DigiLocker, with the remaining documents to be uploaded soon.
