Jewellery worth Rs25 lakh looted in Siwan

Patna: Six robbers looted gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 25 lakh from a jewellery shop in Basantpur market under Basantpur police station area in Siwan district on Monday. The accused, who arrived on two motorcycles, stormed into the shop around 3pm and threatened shopkeeper Arvind Soni and his staff at gunpoint. They decamped with ornaments, including some belonging to customers, and cash from the shop before fleeing the scene. Siwan SP Puran Kumar Jha said CCTV footage is being examined to identify the robbers and raids are being conducted at suspected hideouts.
