Buxar: Ex-servicemen on Monday felicitated BJP MLA Anand Mishra for raising their long-pending land allotment demand in the state assembly. He was honoured at the monthly meeting of the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement (IESM) at the Sainik Office on Bypass Road, drawing around 200 former soldiers from across the district. The meeting also saw discussions on key issues and the induction of 20 new members.
The session was jointly chaired by district president Subedar Harendra Tiwari and Major P K Pandey, while district vice-president Subedar Vidya Sagar Choubey conducted the proceedings. Major P K Pandey thanked the MLA, saying the demand had been pursued for nearly two decades but was raised strongly in the assembly for the first time.

District president Subedar Harendra Tiwari said the organisation had been making efforts for many years to secure 50 decimals land for ex-servicemen, and the clarity with which the matter was presented was commendable.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Anand Mishra said he would not restrict the matter to the assembly but would work to ensure its implementation on the ground. He assured that if the govt failed to provide land, he would personally purchase land and provide it to ex-servicemen. He also asked them to submit five additional key demands for resolution.
