Criminals kill man by slitting throat in Siwan village
Patna: Unidentified criminals killed a 45-year-old man by slitting his throat in Saipur village under Siswan police station area in Siwan district late Friday night.
The incident triggered protest by family members and villagers. Local people blocked Manjhi-Guthani main road and raised slogans against the police administration on Saturday. The victim, Sohan Ram, a resident of Madhwapur under Chainpur OP (police outpost), worked in Haryana, and he returned from the state on Friday to prepare for his son’s wedding scheduled on June 19.
Siwan SP Puran Kumar Jha also visited the crime spot and reviewed the investigation.
According to Sohan’s family, three attackers reached the house late at night and attacked Sohan while he was sleeping on the verandah of the house. His wife rushed out on hearing his cries for help, but the attackers by then had already slit his throat and fled. The villagers rushed him to hospital, but he died.
SHO, Siswan, Chitranjan Kumar, visited the village on getting information about the murder. The dog squad and the FSL team were also called to gather evidence from the spot.
“An FIR has been registered against three unidentified persons in connection with the killing. Further investigation is underway,” the SHO said.
