BJP chief warns NDA workers against unruly scenes at conferences
Patna: State BJP chief Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Sunday cautioned the workers of the NDA partners against creating any unruly scenes at the ongoing workers’ conferences of the alliance being organised in various assembly constituencies of the state.
Jaiswal made the cautionary remarks while talking to reporters at the state JD(U) headquarters here in the backdrop of the unruly scenes witnessed at the workers’ conference held for the Chakai assembly constituency on Saturday. The incident has also gone viral on the social media platforms.
“The matter has been looked into. Two persons have been identified,” Jaiswal said, when reporters drew his attention to the incident. “Otherwise, the NDA workers’ conferences held in the various constituencies, so far, have been historic. They have displayed rock-solid unity,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, state JD(U) president Umesh Singh Kushwaha said since the assembly-constituency level conferences started on Aug 23, as many as 141 assembly constituencies have already been covered in four phases. In the fifth phase from Sept 18 to 23, 14 others would be covered making the count to 155. The state has 243 assembly constituencies, and the schedules of the remaining 88 constituencies, too, would be announced in due course, he said.
“Given the response and enthusiasm of the workers of the alliance partners at the ground level, we sure that the NDA will win the coming assembly elections as per the target set by us,” Kushwaha said, adding that the NDA’s slogan of “225 in 2025, Phir se Nitish” would be achieved, and “there is no challenge to our leadership” comprising PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar.
The BJP state chief came hard on the opposition, and especially attacked RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for his critical remarks on the health care system at Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) at Purnia whose inspection he did on Saturday night.
“The opposition is in panic and frustrated by the success of the assembly-level conferences of the NDA workers. He (read Tejashwi) is a panicky state. They are unemployed, and, therefore, criticising the govt. He does not talk about development, and has no such issues to discuss in the public,” Jaiswal said.
