3 Congress MLAs get notices for absence during RS polls

This decision has led to the unfortunate defeat of the Grand Alliance candidate. The involved MLAs—Surendra Kushwaha, Manoj Biswas, and Manohar Prasad Singh—now have a week to defend their actions.
Patna: State Congress chief Rajesh Ram on Thursday issued show-cause notices to the party’s three MLAs who abstained from voting during the Rajya Sabha election that led to the defeat of the Grand Alliance candidate from the RJD, Amarendra Dhari Singh.“The three MLAs concerned have been asked to submit their replies to the show-cause notice within a week. The notices were served on them through a messenger,” the party’s media head and spokesperson Rajesh Rathorre said. He added that the party would send a detailed report about their abstention to the high command.

The three Congress MLAs are Surendra Kushwaha from Valmiki Nagar, Manoj Biswas from Forbesganj and Manohar Prasad Singh from Manihari.In their separate interactions with reporters, they earlier gave identical replies regarding the reasons behind their abstention from voting in the Rajya Sabha polls. “Yes, I have received the show cause notice, and my reply is also ready,” Biswas said.
