With 98.6% in Science stream, Aaradhya probable overall topper in Nagpur
Nagpur: This year, Science stream claimed the top spot in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exams in Nagpur city where Commerce and Humanities students have traditionally dominated the honour rolls. Aaradhya Singh (School of Scholars-Atrey Layout) of the science stream is the probable topper from with 98.6%, followed closely by Atharv Lahoti (Bhavan's BVM Civil Lines) of Commerce at 98.40% and Vidhi Tiwari (Bhavan's BVM Srikrishna Nagar) of Humanities at 97.4%. Aaradhya said English was the most challenging subject during his preparation. "I solved multiple question papers to gain confidence in the subject," she said. Chemistry and Mathematics were her favourite subjects, with Chemistry particularly fascinating her because of its practical applications and concepts.Consistency was the key for Atharv. "I attended school regularly, revised lessons taught in class every day, and dedicated at least two to three hours daily for self-study." Atharv made it a habit to stay slightly ahead of the syllabus. Accounts and Economics posed the biggest challenge for Atharv initially. "Understanding concepts, balancing accounts, and grasping economic theories took time. With regular practice and repeated revision, I gradually developed confidence in both. Today, they are among my strongest areas of interest," he said.Outside the classroom, Atharv plays tennis and cricket and is passionate about piano. "I plan to pursue a career in finance," he said. Vidhi found Political Science as the toughest subject "because the topics were very complex". Psychology, on the other hand, came naturally to her. Vidhi credited her family, particularly her elder sister, for keeping her motivated and helping her work through doubts. She plans to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Among subjects, Painting saw the highest number of perfect scores nationally, with 15,334 students scoring 100 out of 100. Hindustani Music Vocal followed with 4,472 perfect scores, and Artificial Intelligence saw 3,326 students score a century.
