Nagpur: Gnyaneshwar Kapse has been duped of Rs48 lakhs by Ajay Jha, who took possession of a three-storeyed building owned by the complainant after furnishing a token amount of Rs1,100, but did not pay the rest of the amount as agreed. An offence has been registered against Jha at MIDC police station for cheating and forgery among other charges. It’s learnt that Kapse had purchased a plot from Pramila Bisen in the layout of Vaibhav Anand Gruh Nirman Cooperative Society at Wanadongri in 2008.
Kapse later procured a power of attorney in his favour. He got sanctioned the building plan and completed other formalities, including clearing the tax dues, to erect a three-storeyed building on the plot with due permission from the concerned gram panchayat. In 2011, the building was completed.
Kapse then entered into an oral agreement to sell the property to Jha in 2015. Following the agreement, Jha paid Rs1,100 to Kapse and took possession of the building. Jha later prepared fake documents and records to show him as the title-holder of the property, and refused to pay any money to Kapse for the building.
