KVs post highest pass percentage in CBSE class 12 results
Nagpur: Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) posted the highest pass percentage among all institution categories in the CBSE Class 12 result declared on Wednesday, recording 98.55% nationally. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) finished a close second at 98.47%, leaving independent schools, which form the bulk of CBSE affiliates, trailing by more than 14 percentage points. KVs have been leading the ‘pass percentage' category for last 8 years. The gap between KVs and independent schools stood at 14.33 percentage points. Govt schools recorded 89.55%, govt-aided schools 86.07%, and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) 85.55%. Independent schools finished last among the six institution categories at 84.22%.In Maharashtra, KVs maintained their dominance. The state's KV schools posted 98.35%, nearly 12 percentage points above independent schools in Maharashtra, which recorded 86.16%. JNVs in the state recorded 99.13%, the highest among all institution types in Maharashtra. The state's overall pass percentage stood at 87.04%, with girls outperforming boys at 88.66% against 85.65%. The KV network is run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the ministry of education, primarily for children of central govt employees and defence personnel. The schools follow a standardised curriculum, centralised administration, and uniform academic calendar across all locations, which education administrators long credited for the consistency in results.Nationally, KVs and JNVs consistently topped the institutional performance charts in CBSE results. Both categories operate with centrally administered infrastructure, trained faculty pools, and structured academic support systems that set them apart from independently run schools affiliated with the board.
