Nagpur: Divisional commissioner of Nagpur, Vijayalakshmi Bidari, has been promoted to the rank of principal secretary, as per an official communication issued on Wednesday by the General Administration Department. She will continue to serve in her current post, ensuring administrative continuity in the region.
An IAS officer with a wide-ranging administrative career, Bidari has held several key positions in Maharashtra as well as at the Centre. Before taking charge as divisional commissioner of Nagpur in August 2022, she served as controller at the U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) of the
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bengaluru. Her previous assignments include regional director with the Staff Selection Commission, municipal commissioner of Kolhapur, district collector of Sindhudurg, chief executive officer of Sindhudurg Zilla Parishad, and senior roles in the state govt. She also served in Assam during her early administrative career.
