24-yr-old woman killed by husband in Chandur Bazar
Amravati: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband who suspected her of infidelity. The incident took place in Jawla Shahapur village in Chandur Bazar tehsil on Monday evening. Chandur Bazar Police arrested the 26-year-old husband late Monday night.Cops said that Priyanshi was killed by her husband Sunny Athawale (26). According to police, Priyanshi, who originally hailed from the Ballarshah, met the accused through a social media platform while he was working there. Their relationship developed into love, and they married about one-and-a-half years ago at a temple. After marriage, the couple had started living in Jawala Shahapur.Police said that within a few days, Sunny began doubting his wife's character, which led to frequent disputes. He allegedly subjected her to repeated physical assault, restricted her movement, and harassed his elderly parents.Around 5.30pm on Monday, cops received information about a woman found dead inside a house in Jawala Shahapur. Officers found Priyanshi lying motionless with severe injuries. A prelim investigation revealed the accused allegedly attacked her with a stick. He repeatedly struck her on the forehead, face, and chest, resulting in her death.The body has been sent for a postmortem. A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Pravin Pathare, the police patil. Further investigation is being conducted by API Ulhas Rathod.
