MYSORE: A young stuntman is all set to enthrall Mysoreans with his performance at city hotel this
Independence Day. Entry is free.
Samarth Shenoy, the 27-year-old stuntman, said that he has been doing such stunts ever since he was 13 years. "This year, I will perform 'Fire and bush escape' stunt at the amphitheatre of Silent Shores resort at 6pm. The 20-minute show will be the climax of a two-hour programme which includes contemporary dance performance and songs."
Anchor Avinash Kamath said that their team, titled Ujwala, encourages stuntmen to perform in a unique way. "Shenoy has been trained under expert stuntman Satish Hemmady. We are expecting a huge crowd," he added.
Ujwala member Suman Jadugar explained: "In the latest stunt, Shenoy will be tied up and locked. He will be lifted to a height of 100 feet using a crane, before being dropped into a bush, which will subsequently be lit. Shenoy will come out unscathed, much to the surprise of the crowd."
Shenoy said: "Last year, I rode a 110CC motorbike blindfolded from Mysore to Mangalore non-stop in 11 hours. I'm sure the crowd enjoys this year's stunt too."
Claiming that he has been practising the stunt for the last six months, Shenoy said: "Many youngsters, in an attempt to showcase their stunt skills, either fail or suffer injures due to lack lack of practice. I suggest such youth not to perform without proper practice."
