Elephant triggers panic in village

Madikeri: A wild elephant created panic among the villagers at Arvathoklu village in Ponnampet taluk on Sunday as it entered a farmhouse.

The elephant, enraged by the dogs, chased the dogs away. It gatecrashed and entered the premises of farmhouse owned by Kabbachira Biddu Uthappa around 6 pm, officials said. However, the elephant entered the estate and later disappeared from the spot.

The scene was captured in the CCTV installed by the house owner, which has now gone viral. The forest staff were alerted about the incident and visited the spot.
