JULY 8, 2009 - Ahuja's first plea for bail rejected by a sessions court
AUGUST 13, 2009 - The police file a 109-page charge-sheet against Ahuja accusing him of rape, wrongful confinement and threatening his domestic help
AUGUST 27, 2009 - A local court transfers the case to a fast-track court.

The move is made following an assurance given by Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan that justice will be served without delay
SEPTEMBER 10, 2009 - Local court rejects his bail plea
OCTOBER 1, 2009 - After spending around three-and-a half months in jail, the Bombay HC grants Ahuja bail on surety of Rs 50,000 and the assurance that he will stay out of Mumbai. He cannot leave the country and deposits his passport with the investigating officer

March 30, 2011 - The Sewri fast track court convicts Ahuja and sentences him to seven years of RI
