MBVV cops bust drugs factory in Gorai

Vasai: The crime branch unit 4 of the MBVV has raided multiple locations in Mumbai and busted a Mephedrone Drugs (MD) manufacturing unit in Mumbai. This investigation started with a raid in a second floor flat in Naya Nagar (Mira road) on April 4, after which the crime branch cops followed every lead to end up in a farmhouse in Manori (Gorai) seizing the manufacturing unit and hundreds of liters of chemicals and raw material enough to produce several kilograms of MD. Till now the cops have arrested 13 in this case, which involves two couples (husband and wife). One couple is from Naya Nagar (Mira Road) the other couple is from Agripada (Mumbai). The cops have arrested these accused from Mira road and Mumbai, that includes peddlers and history sheeters.

“On April 4, we raided the second floor flat of Arbaz Quereshi and Firdaus Qureshi after a tip-off and seized 1.3 kg of MD drugs worth 3 crores”, said a senior official from the crime branch. After questioning them we started arresting the accused as and when we got information on them, he added. Finally we got information that these MD drugs were manufactured in Manori, where we raided and seized the material. The cops found 255 liters of chemicals and raw material to be used in the manufacturing of more MD drugs.

The cops also confirmed that out of the 13 arrested, one accused who is STD 4th paas was called doctor, as he was a professional in manufacturing these drugs. One of them used to work as a courier transporting drugs from one state to another, and then into the MMR region.

All the accused have been booked under sections of BNS and NDPS Act and are in police custody now. Senior officials of the crime branch have confirmed that even after this factory-bust, they are following all the leads and are confident of more busts.
