Maharashtra to launch single portal for all post-Class 10 scholarships
Now, an integrated portal for scholarships in Maharashtra
Mumbai: The Maharashtra govt will roll out a new integrated scholarship platform, MahaScholarship, on the MahaDBT 2.0 portal from the 2026-27 academic year, bringing all post-Class 10 scholarship schemes under a single digital system. A press note issued by the higher and technical education department said the move aims to simplify applications, renewals, verification and direct benefit transfers for students across the state. The revamped portal will reduce the scholarship application form from over 130 fields to around 65 fields, with student data and documents being automatically fetched from Aadhaar, CET Cell and other govt databases wherever applicable. The department said this is expected to cut down repetitive data entry, errors and ineligible applications. The verification process on the portal has also been streamlined, with the existing four-level scrutiny system reduced to two levels to speed up approvals and scholarship disbursals. Students will also be able to track their application status online, while scholarship amounts will be transferred directly into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. The new portal will additionally introduce pre-filled renewal applications, allowing students to update only changed details instead of filing fresh forms every year. Income certificates submitted in the first year for income-based schemes will remain valid for the duration of the course. Chandrakant Patil, the Higher and Technical Education Minister, said the new system would bring “speed, transparency and ease into the scholarship process” and help ensure smoother delivery of benefits to students across the state.
