Development expressway to be built from Mumbai to Surjagad in Gadchiroli: Eknath Shinde
Mumbai: DCM Eknath Shinde on Friday said a new development expressway will be built from Mumbai to Surjagad in Gadchiroli. Shinde said that Mumbai is the financial hub of the country, and remote areas like Gadchiroli are rich in natural and industrial resources. Shinde said the govt’s focus is not to limit the development of the state to the metropolitan cities alone but to extend it to rural, tribal and backward areas. “The Samruddhi Highway, Metro Network, Navi Mumbai International Airport, Industrial Corridors, Steel Projects and Skill Development Centres have given a major boost to employment generation in the state and have made the journey of development from Coast to Forest a reality in the last few years,” Shinde said while speaking at a conclave in the city.
“When I was the Guardian Minister of Gadchiroli, I tried to build trust by going to Naxal-affected areas and interacting with local citizens, tribal communities and police. Festivals like Raksha Bandhan and Diwali were also celebrated with the soldiers in Gadchiroli. If you want to develop a remote area, it is necessary to have an emotional connection with the community there,” Shinde said.
“The all-round development of the state is being achieved through industry, modern infrastructure, fast communication, skill development, housing and eco-friendly projects. Maharashtra’s economy will reach $1 trillion due to this comprehensive development plan,” Shinde said.
