BMC chessboard takes shape: BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena appoint key party leaders
MUMBAI: The BJP and the Eknath Shinde–led Shiv Sena on Monday announced the appointment of key party leaders, in the BMC. While Borivali corporator Ganesh Khankar was appointed the BJP party leader, two time Wadala corporator Amey Ghole was announced as the Shiv Sena party leader.Senior leaders from both parties were present in the civic headquarters to make the announcement.BJP Mumbai president Ameet Satam said, that the BJP and the Eknath Shinde–led Shiv Sena will go to Konkan Bhavan today to register their parties separately, putting to rest speculation that the two would file a joint registration. Satam also said the next Mumbai mayor would be chosen from among the 118 Mahayuti corporators which includes both BJP & Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena corporators continuing the speculation over the city’s top post, but did not name any woman corporator.
