43-year-old tailor booked for sexually assaulting minor girl in Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai: A 43-year-old tailor has been booked by Vashi police for sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.An FIR was registered against the accused after the girl alleged that he touch her inappropriately by putting his hand inside her kurti while taking measurement for stitching her dress. API Yogesh Bhosale at Vashi police station informed that the accused has not been arrested but served with a notice under the provision of Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita for cooperating in police investigation whenever summoned for inquiry. The incident occurred around 10 pm at the accused tailor's shop in Juhugaon.The accused has been booked under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for assault or the use of criminal force against a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty and sexual harrasment along with Pocso Act deals with the punishment for sexual assault of a child.
