Meerut: A city trader and his son sustained bullet injuries after two bike-borne assailants shot at them late on Thursday evening.
The incident happened when Praveen Arora, 55, and his son Prakhar Arora, 24 were returning home from their grocery shop in Khairnagar market.
According to the victim, assailants on motorcycle started following them from Khairnagar market and pulled over near a lane at their residence in New Mohanpuri.

“They tried to snatch a bag, containing some documents, from me," said Praveen Arora who was riding pillion on the scooter driven by his son.
After Aroras confronted, the assailants pulled out a gun and shot at Prakhar. When Praveen tried to chase them, he was too shot at by the unidentified assailants. The injured were taken to a local hospital where their condition is reportedly stable.
The entire incident was caught on CCTV. A case of loot and attempt to murder has been registered against the miscreants at Civil Lines police station on Friday.
According to the police, the assailants had come on a stolen motorcycle. "We are in the process of identifying the assailants," said Manzil Saini, senior superintendent of police.
Meanwhile, the local traders kept the Khairnagar market shut on Friday. They have given three days to the local police to work out the case, failing which they will launch agitation.
