Kin stage protest outside SP’s office
BIJNOR: The family members of a 14-year-old girl from Guniyapur village staged a protest outside the SP’s office on Friday alleging that she had been abducted by a youth belonging to a different community.
The family threatened to sit on dharna outside the top cop’s office if the police failed to trace the minor girl within two days.
The girl’s father alleged, “My daughter, who is a student of Class IX, had gone to visit her maternal grandfather in Aurangpur village on May 26.

A youth from Shahpura village along with his two friends abducted her. We lodged a complaint at the Kiratpur police station but no action was taken. We will stage a dharna if the police don’t locate her within two days.”
Giving details, Kiratpur station officer Dharampal Singh said, “A case has been registered related to the minor’s abduction. Though no arrests have been made so far, we’ve initiated proceedings in this regard.”
Discussing the case, SP (city) Kalpana Saxena said, “I have instructed SO Kotwali (rural) and Kiratpur station officer to treat the case on priority basis and trace the girl as soon as possible.”
