UP businessman found murdered with slit throat on warehouse roof

MEERUT: A 42-year-old businessman was found murdered on the roof of his electronics warehouse in Hapur's Babugarh area early Thursday. Police said his throat had been slit by unidentified assailants.Vinod Kumar, a resident of Ayat Nagar, stayed overnight at the warehouse on Bachhlota Road. Police said the attackers entered the premises during the night and killed him with a sharp-edged weapon.The crime came to light when locals discovered Kumar's body in a pool of blood and alerted the cops. Officers reached the scene, secured the area and sent the body for post-mortem examination.SP Kunwar Gyananjay Singh said, "Some unidentified persons may have attacked him with a sharp weapon. A case has been registered under BNS sections, including 103 (murder).""Police teams, including the field unit and SWAT team, inspected the spot and collected evidence. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused at the earliest," he added.Police said that Kumar's family members have not indicated any suspects or known enmity. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the attackers.
