23yo man shot dead after birthday party in Bijnor village

Bijnor: A 23-year-old man was shot dead late Thursday night at a village under Shivala Kala police station in Bijnor district. Victim Lokesh Chauhan, a resident of Alhedadpur Kala in Amroha district’s Naugawan Sadat area, had come to attend a birthday party hosted by his friend Vishal Kumar.

Police said several people were present on the occasion. One Sintu suddenly left the party and later called Lokesh to his house. Lokesh, along with Vishal, Lucky and Ujjwal Gaur, later went to Sintu’s house on two motorcycles.

Sintu, Vishal, Priyanshu Chauhan and Siddharth were waiting at the house and the moment Lokesh arrived, they opened fire on him with country-made firearms. Lokesh sustained critical gunshot injuries and died on the spot.

Senior police officials, including additional SP (Rural) Prakash Kumar and two circle officers, visited the crime scene. The body was later sent for post-mortem.

ASP Prakash Kumar said an FIR was registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, A search is on to arrest the accused. “Investigators are also examining the motive behind the killing,” he said.
