The way Rahul treated Siddaramaiah is not right: Joshi
Mangaluru: Union Minister of consumer affairs, food and public distribution & new and renewable energy, Pralhad Joshi, said that the manner in which Congress high command and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi treated Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah, is not appropriate.Speaking to reporters in the city on Thursday, he said that instability, chaos, and distrust have been building up in Karnataka, reaching a peak recently. “They chant the OBC mantra every day, but how have they treated a backward class chief minister? Just like Rajiv Gandhi insulted Veerendra Patil in the past, Rahul Gandhi did the same with Siddaramaiah,” he said.Stating that Siddaramaiah and Yediyurappa are mass leaders in Karnataka, Joshi said Congress is in power in four states across the country, with upper-caste leaders as chief ministers in three of them, yet they talk about OBC issues. “Although Siddaramaiah is not entirely blameless, the way Rahul Gandhi treated him is not right. There is no governance in the state’s Congress govt, only appeasement and corruption. Even if DK Shivakumar becomes the chief minister, the situation will remain the same,” Joshi said and emphasised that BJP does not wish for Congress to fail for them to come to power, but rather they aim to return to power through positive thinking under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance. He further expressed confidence that just as the BJP came to power in West Bengal, Assam, and Maharashtra, it will come to power in Karnataka with a strong majority.
