Auto driver found murdered

LUDHIANA: The body of Lakhwinder Singh alias Lakha was found in an auto rickshaw in front of Manju Cinema of the city on Wednesday. Lakhwinder was resident of Ekta Colony, Rahon Road and was an auto rickshaw driver by profession.Station house officer of division-IIpolice station Surinder Mohan said that they received the information around 8amand when they reached the spot they found the dead body of the deceased placedinside the auto rickshaw. Mohan said deceased was earning hislivelihood by driving auto rickshaw on rent and previously was working as acleaner of truck of Gurnaam Singh. He left the job due to a tussle with theowner of the truck. He said deceased was under debt of Gurnaam Singh.Police sources added that on the statement of deceased's brother,Gurbachan Singh they have registered a case against Gurnaam Singh. The body hasbeen sent to Civil Hospital for examination. According to GurbachanSingh, Lakhwinder was threatened by Gurnaam Singh and was accused mastermindbehind the murder of his brother.
