Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP president and Union minister
Pankaj Chaudhary will join representatives of the Bengali community at the state BJP headquarters in Lucknow to watch the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Kolkata on Saturday.
UP BJP state general secretary Subhash Yaduvansh said that BJP workers and office-bearers along with members of the Bengali community in Lucknow, Varanasi and Noida will connect with the rally through a live telecast and listen to the PM's address.
The initiative, sources in UP BJP said, signalled the party's attempt to expand the political resonance of the rally beyond West Bengal. By organising live telecasts in major UP cities with sizeable Bengali populations, the party will seek to create a symbolic pan-regional connect with voters and supporters who may have social, cultural or political ties with Bengal, the sources said.
