LDA to develop ’One District, One Cuisine’ park in Gomti Nagar
Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will develop an ‘ODOC Park’ in Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, to promote Uttar Pradesh’s, ‘One District, One Cuisine’ initiative.The project will come up on an 8,000-square-metre prime plot near Gomti Nagar Railway Station and is being conceptualised on the lines of ‘Dilli Haat’. It will feature more than 40 food kiosks serving traditional delicacies from districts across the state, creating a dedicated culinary hub for residents and visitors. The facility will also include seating areas, landscaping and sanitation infrastructure.LDA vice-chairperson, Prathamesh Kumar, said the project is expected to provide a major push to the ‘ODOC’ scheme while generating employment opportunities for local vendors and artisans. During a site inspection, he directed officials to obtain a No Objection Certificate from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation to expedite the project.In another major development, the authority’s budget hotel in Vikrant Khand is being upgraded for operations under Hyatt Hotels Corporation as Hyatt Centric, a five-star property. During an inspection, the VC reviewed the renovation work and was informed that the repair and upgradation were likely to be completed within six months.Once operational, the project is expected to generate around Rs 378 crore in revenue for the authority.
