‘Govt has proposed ‘Japan City’ in YEIDA area to attract investments’
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh industries minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, who accompanied chief minister Yogi Adityanath on the four-day official visit to Singapore and Japan, said that the state proposed developing a dedicated ‘Japan City' over 500 acres in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area to create a specialised industrial ecosystem for Japanese companies.He said that strengthening the Japan Desk at Invest UP and promoting MSME partnerships were also part of the discussions.

In Singapore, the delegation held govt-to-business meetings and investor roadshows focusing on data centres, logistics, aviation ecosystem, fintech, skill development and urban infrastructure.In Japan, discussions centered on advanced manufacturing, automobiles, electronics and green energy collaborations.The visit resulted in significant investor interest, with MoUs worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore and investment proposals totaling Rs 2.5 lakh crore received from Singapore and Japan. He said the positive response reflected growing global confidence in UP's transparent policies, improved law and order, and expanding infrastructure base.
