Family attacked for resisting harassment

Lucknow: A family was brutally attacked late Saturday night in the Para area after they resisted the harassment of a young woman by a group of men under the influence of liquor.The incident took place near Surya Nagar crossing, where the accused allegedly stopped the family's car, dragged them out, and assaulted them with rods, sticks, bricks, and sharp-edged weapons.Four members of the family sustained injuries in the attack. One of them, a young man who suffered a deep head injury, is in the ICU and is said to be critical. The family alleged that around 50 men were involved in the assault and also vandalised their car before leaving. They further claimed that the attackers threatened to kill the family if they reported the matter to the police.Based on the victim's complaint, police registered a case against several men, including Kuldeep Yadav alias Kala, Nagendra Yadav alias Gabbar, Padamman Yadav, Babban Yadav, Shrikant Yadav, and Uday Yadav. Inspector Suresh Singh said three police teams have been formed to nab the accused, while CCTV footage from the area is being examined. For security, a constable has been deployed outside the victim family's home. TNN
