Moreover, inquiry was ordered against the functioning and working of Anoop Kumar, Motilal, Shambunath Tiwari, Shyam Kumar Pal, Rakesh Kumar, Vipin Kumar Singh, Ashish Chandra Tripathi, Vijay Yadav, Dhananjay Pandey, Kamlapati Yadav, Ravindra Nath Singh and Parshuram Ojha.
The four circle officers posted in trans-Gomti area will conduct the inquiry against the sub-inspectors who have not been able to produce results for the past few months. Senior superintendent of police J Ravinder Goud went through the details of cases registered and past cases solved. Trans-Gomti areas such as Gomtinagar, Vibhuti Khand, Indiranagar, Mahanagar, Vikasnagar, Niralanagar and Aliganj are frequently targeted by criminals. Auto thefts, chain and purse snatching, house break-ins and property offences have been growing in past few years in the absence of effective policing.
Goud asked the officials to write down names of 20 criminals.
"Answers submitted by majority of sub-inspectors remained in single digits and action was initiated against slow cops," said a cop who attended the meeting.
