LUCKNOW: In yet another case of victimisation of small-time contractors in various development works carried out in various dream projects of Mayawati during BSP government, a man has claimed non-payment of the full amount, even when he completed the work, which was assigned to him.
An FIR in this regard was registered with Gomtinagar police station. The complainant, Ajay Kumar Sharma, a resident of Rakabganj locality, alleged that he carried out stone fixing work at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal at various pyramids, Buddha statue and small elephants between September 3, 2010 and November 14, 2011.

He got the work done through Mohammad Salim Siddiqui's firm Image construction and Interiors. The total cost of the work carried out by Ajay stood at around Rs 6 lakh. Since Ajay is a small-time contractor, he arranged the money for the work by selling his wife's jewellery and even borrowed some money from his friends and relatives.
After completion of the work, he asked for the payment of the dues from Siddiqui. However, against the payment of Rs 6 lakh, he was given Rs 3.02 lakh. When Ajay started insisting for the rest of Rs 2.98 lakh, Siddiqui started threatening him with dire consequences. According to the complainant, Siddiqui had also been threatening him of kidnapping his child.
IG Ashutosh Pandey while talking to reporters said that the FIR has been registered and the matter is being investigated.
