​CM to inaugurate Lko’s newest museum dedicated to Indian Navy

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and defence minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday will inaugurate Nausena Shaurya Vatika, an open-air naval museum, dedicated to the bravery, sacrifice, technological excellence and maritime legacy of the Indian Navy.The museum, located near Gate No. 5 of Ekana Cricket Stadium, has been jointly developed by the Indian Navy and the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department.The centrepiece of the Vatika is INS Gomti, a decommissioned Indian Navy frigate that served the nation for nearly three decades before being retired on May 28, 2022.Visitors will also get a rare close-up view of naval equipment that is usually seen only on operational warships, including the AK-726 medium-range naval gun, CET-53M submarine obstacle equipment, ZIF-101 launcher with RJ, anchors, ship propellers, capstan drums and the vessel’s main mast.Designed as an immersive naval heritage experience, the facility will feature real naval artefacts, interpretation panels and military displays that trace the evolution of India’s maritime strength and security.Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh, said Nausena Shaurya Vatika is a tribute to the courage, valour and professionalism of Indian naval personnel.“This museum will serve as a source of inspiration for future generations and foster patriotism and military pride among youth. Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the Indian Navy’s history, war operations, technological capabilities and contribution to maritime security,” Singh said.Officials added that the Vatika forms part of a larger naval heritage initiative worth over Rs 42 crore, which also includes the upcoming INS Gomti Shaurya Sanghralaya, a maritime museum currently under development.
