Another police observer appointed

Kolkata: The EC has appointed IPS officer Saravana Vivek M as a police observer, who will be stationed at the office of the chief electoral officer in Kolkata. He will report to the EC till the end of the poll process. Acting on an EC directive, Bengal Police has ordered the transfer of four inspectors. Tapan Paul and Sandip Chattaraj have been transferred from Coochbehar and Jangipur to Siliguri and Bidhannagar commissionerate. Swapan Goswami and Debasish Nag from Barrackpur commissionerate have been shifted to CID and Chandernagore. They will join the new posts by 5 pm on April 14. tnn
