According to RPF officials, the stone-pelting reportedly happened after 7.50pm when the train, headed to Mangaluru, left Aluva railway station. Windowpanes in coach numbers one and 18 suffered cracks. "They noticed the damage to the windowpanes when the train reached Mangaluru. After examining the CCTV footage on the train, they assumed the incident might have happened in Angamaly," said the source.
Aluva RPF had asked for CCTV footage from the train from their counterparts in Mangaluru to conduct the probe. The train is equipped with surveillance cameras outside and inside each coach.
