Nehru Trophy Boat Race to be held on Aug 22

Kottayam: The 72nd Nehru Trophy Boat Race (NTBR) is scheduled to be held on Aug 22 at Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha. The decision was taken at the executive committee meeting of Nehru Trophy Boat Race Society on Thursday chaired by district collector Alex Varghese, who is also the chairperson of the NTBR Society. The event is planned during the Onam celebrations. It was also decided to secure more sponsors for this year's event and to complete preparations in advance. The categories for sponsorship and the budget will be decided at a subsequent meeting. The meeting also resolved to organise more charitable activities under the leadership of the NTBR Society.
