State Veteran Cricket Tournament: Allahabad XI pip Kanpur XI to enter final

Kanpur: Allahabad XI drubbed Kanpur XI by six wickets to advance to the final of the Dr Gaur Hari Singhania Memorial State Veteran Cricket Tournament on Sunday. Allahabad will now take on Bareilly in the final on Jan 25.In the second semi-final at the Rashtriya Inter School Ground, Kanpur Veterans piled up 135 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Major contributions came from Jai, who scored 59 runs, and Gopal Singh, who added 32. Saif Ahmad claimed four wickets. In reply, Allahabad achieved the target, losing four wickets. Imroz Ali (44) and Kaushik Pal (29) provided a solid start, adding 59 runs for the first wicket. Thereafter, one-down batsman Balram Yadav scored 38 runs off 57 balls to seal the fate of the match.
